Seven Sure Ways to Study the Bible!
At one point in time, everyone must have have struggled with reading, studying and understanding the Bible. If you have ever been in this position, or you are currently grappling with it (studying the Bible) by the grace of God this post is for you.
Reading the Bible is easy but Understanding scripture is a thing only the Holy Ghost can do in the life of the reader.
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Acts 8:30
That passage above is a clear example of what can happen when one loves to read the Bible but is not yet equipped by the Holy Spirit to understand scripture just as the Ethiopian Eunuch was before he received the Holy Spirit.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim 3:16
Looking at this Seven Sure Ways to Study the Bible; these are few ways that will show seriousness in the life of one who truly searches the words of God in Bible.
1) Ask God for grace to seek and search through scripture to know the ways and mind of God
2) Read and Study the Bible every day
3) Approach the Bible with faith and trust in the words of God written therein
4) Use every avenue or tool available to study if it means going to any length to understand what is written therein. (Literally and Spiritually)— do so.
5) Be Completely obedient to the words written in the Bible and diligently adhere to it
6) While agreeing with the authority of the Bible — do not worship the Bible (bibliolatry) but, appreciate the goodness of God in giving us the opportunity to read His words and know His ways.
7) Commit to memory and apply it in every way possible
