The Triune God: Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit/Ghost is the third person of the blessed Trinity.

He is also known as The “Creator Spirit” and the “Revealer” of the secret things or mysteries of God.

The study of the Holy Spirit is known as Pneumatology.

THE HOLY SPIRIT’S ATTRIBUTES

He is referred to in the Old Testament as

The Spirit of God (Genesis 1:2)
The Giver of Life (Genesis 7:22)
Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, & Understanding (Isaiah 11:2)
Spirit of Counsel and Might (Isaiah 11:2)
Breath of the Spirit of Life (Genesis 7:22)

  

The New Testament refers to Him as
Spirit of God (Matthew 12:28)
Spirit of Truth (John 16:13)
Spirit of Christ (1 Peter 1:11)
